10 Marijuana Penny Stocks Dissected: Research and Links for Investors

It is estimated that the cannabis industry could grow to a size that rivals that of beer and tobacco, creating novel (though volatile) opportunities in marijuana-related stocks. Look at the growth from 2015 to 2019:

Currently, there are about 46 publically traded Cannabis stocks in North America.

I’ve gathered and listed most (if not all) marijuana penny stocks, and a few places for further research and stats. This is not an endorsement of the stocks, but merely a list for research purposes.

Golden Leaf Holdings Ltd

GLH:CNX

Headquartered in Portland, Oregon, Golden Leaf was founded in 2011.

They have production capabilities in Ontario and are due to start operations in Oregon in Q1 2019. Their current annual output is 616lbs and they employ around 225 people. Q2 2018 revenue was $3.7M.

It is currently trading at CAD 0.14 and has been listed on the stock exchange since 2015.

Auxly Cannabis Group Inc.

XLY:CA

Auxly is a Canadian company with diverse international operations. It is headquartered in Toronto and was founded in 1987.

Their Q3 2018 income was CAD 0.28M. They don’t produce cannabis themselves but have 15 upstream partners (mostly domestic and one in Uruguay) that they will source the goods from. Their business model is to take the raw product and add value by extracting, processing, manufacturing the final product themselves to sell onto consumers.

It currently trades at CAD 0.95.

Newstrike Brands Ltd.

HIP:CA

Headquartered in Toronto, Newstrike was founded in 2014.

Their Brantford Studio facility produces 2,500kg; their Niagara facility produces 12,500kg (increasing to 30,000 by 2019). In November 2017, an agreement to be acquired was reached with CanniMed, however, CanniMed terminated this agreement. Their Q3 2018 revenue was $3.4M and their net profit for the quarter was -8.1M.

Its share price is currently USD 0.52.

Vivo Cannabis Inc.

VIVO:CA

Vivo is a Canadian licensed cannabis producer, headquartered in Napanee, Ontario.

They have a three-pronged approach to revenue generation – domestic adult-use sales, domestic medical sales, and international sales with a focus on Europe and Australia. In August 2018, Vivo acquired Canna Farmson for 133M which nearly tripled their production capacity.

Their current capacity is 4,200kgs and they are projecting this to be 11,000kgs of annual production by Q1 2019 with 2/3rds from British Columbia and 1/3rd from Ontario.

It was founded in 2007 and its current share price is CAD 0.61.

Terra Tech Corp

TRTC

Terra Tech is headquartered in Irvine, California.

They were founded in 2010 and have over 300 employees. Their production is currently based in California and Nevada in the U.S. and they are looking to expand sales as more states legalize cannabis. Q3 2018 revenue was US$ 7.1M. They are constructing a new production facility in Oakland that will have an annual capacity of 2,000lbs.

Their current share price is $0.64.

MPX Bioceutical Corporation

MPX:CNX

MPX is headquartered in Toronto and its significant operations are in Canada.

It has a growing presence in the U.S. with imminent plans for dispensaries and production facilities in 4 states. In Q3 2018 they recorded $14.7M in revenue.

They recently announced that they are merging with Anthus. The combined entity will have 375 employees and distribution in 10 different U.S. states.

MPX currently trades at CAD 0.82.

Liberty Health Sciences Inc

LHS:CNX

LHS is 20% owned by Aphria.

They operate out of Florida currently but have license applications in the states of Massachusetts, Michigan and New Jersey awaiting the outcomes. Their current production capacity in FL is 1,600kg per year. By the end of 2018, this will be closer to 14,600 kg per year as they leverage Aphria’s expertise.

Their stock is currently trading at CAD 0.85.

Namaste Technologies Inc.

N:CA

Namaste operates the largest global cannabis e-commerce platform with over 30 websites in 20+ countries under various brands.

Namaste’s product offering through its subsidiaries includes vaporizers, glassware, accessories, CBD products and medical cannabis in the Canadian market through its licensed subsidiary, CannMart.com.

Their revenue for the 3 months ended Aug 31, 2018, was $3.9M.

Namaste is currently trading at CAD 0.85.

Cannex Capital Holdings Inc.

CNNX:CNX

It was founded in 2017 and is headquartered in Vancouver, BC.

They have closed on 6 acquisitions since founding and are looking to make more moves in the M&A space. Their total production capacity is 19,000kgs a year and their Q3 2018 revenue was over $12M. All of their operations and potential deals in the future are in the United States. There is a potential merger being negotiated currently between Cannex and 4front.

Cannex is currently trading at CAD 0.92.

Wayland Group

WAYL:CNX

Wayland is currently listed on the Canadian Securities exchange as WAYL as a subsidiary of Maricann Group Inc.

They have distribution agreements with 4 different provinces in Canada and production space for annual capacity up to 65,000 kgs. Their corporate headquarters are in Burlington, Ontario.

Their stock price is at CAD 0.97.
